* Rev. Thomas Hamilton Lowry passed away at the Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020 in his 79th year.   His spirit lives within the seniors congregation he has fostered, and you will be welcomed by his outreach in the spirit of his Saviour.   His memorial service occurred at Barrie North West United on March 1 with a full church in attendance.

His leadership and spirit will continue in the regular services to be held in the dining room at 92 Dean Avenue.  Painswich Council is aware of the loss suffered by our "Seniors Ministry", but Tom's vision and the guidance of God will show us the way to continue this ministry and help it thrive.

With the changing dynamics amongst faith communities everywhere, it is imperative that current best-practice thinking be brought to bear upon our planning so that our mission may not merely be sustained, but also be enabled to grow.

Our model of a congregation which worships weekly in a retirement community and without owning any real properties is not unique, but it is no less a Christian community of faith which is looking to its future.

As further opportunities arise, such as our current partnership with Collier St. United Church in the sponsorship of a Syrian Refugee Family, UCW Presbyterial mission endeavors, TUCC Investing in Ministry work, tithing for Mission & Service, local community partnerships, or other joint initiatives, we expect we will be ready, willing and able to do our part.
